I think this is the first episode of Lost that I've seen where there is evidence that the island existed before the plane crash. (The people don't count if you assume that the whole thing is fantasy or purgatory or "Will Of God").

The evidence is fairly circumspect - the guy Sam Toomey heard the numbers on a radio, Rousseau says that her ship wrecked because it was trying to locate them, and then they're on the wall at (what I assume) is the radio tower. But it does imply to some degree that the Island existed and was the origin of the numbers.

I thought the whole "I'm worth 156 million -- fine, don't tell me" was priceless.

Although, since I would imagine that if his family thinks he's dead that it will not be there if he gets back.
