The Tick (Live Action 2001)
I was a fan of The Tick before it was cool (way back in 89-90 when the first comics were made).
I've seen a lot of people diss on the live action TV show, but I pooh pooh their petty natterings. Patrick Warburton is perhaps the best, nay the only person who can play The Tick.
And the quotes... Oh My God!
Fiery Blaze: Like I always say, any enemy of evil is a friend of mine.
The Tick: Mandingo, how I grok your mouth music.
Arthur: Stacy Waxman!
The Tick: The Waxman! Burning his fiendish candle at both ends!
The Tick: [to Authur] You're on a first-name basis with Lucidity. I have to call it Mr. Lucidity!
The Tick: Gravity is a harsh mistress.
The Tick: Don't be an Adolf Quitler!
The Tick: Owwwww! My head feels like it's... like it's gunna have a baby.
Arthur: It's called a headache.
The Tick: It has a name?
(In a fight with a coffee machine)
The Tick: Armless bandit... Empty your bladder of that bitter black urine men call coffee! It has its price and its price has been payed
Batmanuel: Not alone... Lone. Alone is an unfortunate predicament, lone is an aesthetic choice.
Fishladder: Aurthur, my time is worth 17 dollars a second. I want an explanation, and I want it to cost less than fifteen hundred dollars!
I'm going to have to buy this. I'm embarrassed I didn't see it sooner. At least I spared myself the heartbreak of hoping it would be renewed...

Yeah, the show was alright, but there was not nearly enough Tick and way too much of the other guys. Granted, the cartoon and comic book had alot of the other guys as well, but not so much as the live action show.
Look at the opening credits of the live action show and compare it to the cartoon's opening- that says it all. The cartoon's opening was mostly Tick running around and breaking stuff and being cool, plus some brief shots of Arthur and other super heroes and villains. (Key word: brief) The live action opening- did it even show the Tick by himself? I don't remember. All I remember is the slow mo ending to the opening with all four super heroes (Tick, Arthur, BatManuel and what's her name) walking side by side. Was the show called "The Tick, Arthur, BatManuel and (what's her name)"? No, just The Tick, and the writers and producers of the live action show forgot this and screwed it up. Very sad.
Plus the writing for all non-Tick characters was disappointing.
All that said, it was still, better than most other crap out there now and if it came back, i wouldn't protest (espeically if they did better on the writing).

Ah, but Davy, to me, the beauty of the show was it was a sitcom about superheroes. Just like in Friends or Seinfeld, when they just sit around and chat half the episode. I found the format brilliant.
Also, live action combat sequences are very expensive. It would have been nice to see some of the offscreen action, but alas.
