Ruby on Rails rant
Joel Spolsky (at least I think it's Joel) has a good rant on some of the defects in Rails. It's a fair set of criticisms, similar to those I've mentioned in the past.
For those RoR fanatics out there, the payoff comes at the end:
I only say all this because Rails is the first framework worth criticizing.
It's easy to miss, but it's important. What Joel is saying is that even though it has some serious flaws, it's still the only framework he's ever seen that is good enough to spend time ranting about.
And that is high praise, even when coated in a bitter shell.
